Technology Comes to Gloucester

The technology that was presented in the picture I was assigned was a telephone office. This shows the time of when telephones were introduced to the world. Telephones were a huge invention and a major impact on the world. Telephones are used all around the world to communicate with loved ones, and to even make business deals. I believe that telephone offices at the time were a small office with a telephone in it that people would pay to communicate with people all over the world. Telephones have evolved over time to becoming one of the biggest phenomenon's.
The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876. He was the first telephone patent. He technically invented the first model of the telephone, which makes him the first patent of the telephone. Elisha Gray also built a model for the telephone the only reason why Bell gets credit for being the inventor is because he got his model into the patent office’s hours before Elisha Gray. they both entered a famous legal battle over who was the true inventor of the telephone which Bell ended up winning. Bell's mother and wife were both deaf, one of the influences of Bell's work. Bell later on became part of the National Geographic Society and to the day is described to be one of the most influential figures in human history.
