Technology Comes To Gloucester  by Thomas Donahue GAS STOVES

Gas stoves were first invented in the 1820's by James Sharp a closer a guess would be 1826. He later  opened a gas stove factory in 1836, in England. It didn't say how he invented this. He invented this in Northhampton, England.

This started to be a huge success in the 1880's, and the reason it took so long was piping problems. Before major popularity a gas stove was shown at the great exihibition in London. In 1910 people started to enamel their stoves to make the stove more easy to clean. Today stoves have two ignitions, which are electric and standard pilot. Because of James Sharp our stove industry has grown and evolved.
